    Local resident Hunter Cox will be taking a trip to Oklahoma to assist tornado victims. If you would like to donate you may drop off your donations at the Brown County Auditor's office, during business hours, or call Hunter at (325) 998-4105, and he will set something up with you. Donations will be accepted until late Friday night.

    Gina Torres and Jeanni Luckey showed the proper, and improper, way to ride as a passenger in a vehicle and have the seat belt positioned Wednesday morning in a demonstration outside Early Elementary School. Torres works with KidSafe, an injury prevention program sponsored by the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco and the Texas Department of Transportation. Luckey, a TxDOT traffic safety specialist, is assigned to the Brownwood office. Torres and Luckey put on demonstrations for Early elementary and primary students. The demonstrations included a device called a "rollover convincer," a mockup of a car cabin that shows what happens to unbelted occupants in a rollover accident.
