Gina Torres and Jeanni Luckey showed the proper, and improper, way to ride as a passenger in a vehicle and have the seat belt positioned Wednesday morning in a demonstration outside Early Elementary School. Torres works with KidSafe, an injury prevention program sponsored by the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco and the Texas Department of Transportation. Luckey, a TxDOT traffic safety specialist, is assigned to the Brownwood office. Torres and Luckey put on demonstrations for Early elementary and primary students. The demonstrations included a device called a "rollover convincer," a mockup of a car cabin that shows what happens to unbelted occupants in a rollover accident.

Beginning with this past Sunday's edition, the Bulletin is publishing a feature on a local business that will run each Sunday. The first feature, called Business Spotlight, was on Brownwood Glass and Alignment, the business with the iconic little red car with wobbly wheels.

Howard Payne University's School of Music and Fine Arts presented its 18th annual American Music Spectacular "The Struggle for Freedom" this past week, under the direction of Corey Ash.
