BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons bounced back from a disappointing road loss at Colorado City Saturday with a 25-10, 25-12, 25-21 home victory over Ranger Tuesday night.
The Lady Dragons pushed their record to 8-6 overall with the win and will host Class 3A Llano at 4:30 p.m. Friday prior to the homecoming football game.
Kinsie Ward ignited the Bangs offense with 11 kills trailed by nine from Rikki Loman, five from Jaylee Roberts, three from Kady Kyle and one apiece from Kassidy Adams, Briannah Sosa and Taylor Tomme.
Cheyenne Lovelady dished out 25 assists, while Ward served a team-high seven aces followed by five from Roberts, three from Lovelady and one each from Adams and Kylie Allen.
Defensively, Ward posted nine digs while Allen added five, Roberts tallied three and Lovelady collected two.
"It was good to be back in our home gym and the team started with great enthusiasm," said Lady Dragons first-year head coach Colleen Westfall. "By looking at the number of kills, our passing, setting and spikes were on target. Finishing on offense has been an aspect of our game we've been working on, so I'm very proud of the girls."
