The Victory Life Warriors slipped to 0-2 on the season Thursday with a 44-35 home loss at the hands of the Lometa JV.
Missing the three most experienced players on the roster due to injury, VLA finished with 337 yards of total offense, including 278 passing, but turned the ball over six times while giving up 263 yards.
VLA’s Sam Haley passed for 148 yards and three touchdowns, while Ethan Essary threw for 130 yards and two scores. Essary also rushed for a team-high 36 yards and Haley added 21.
Jack Haley (6-63, TD), Jadyn Thedford (4-41), Essary (4-17, 2 TDs), Duncan McNeill (3-34), Sam Haley (3-27), Martin Venegas (2-58) and Roland Aguinaga (2-38, 2 TDs) were top receivers for the Warriors.
VLA will visit Mullin next week.
