SAN ANTONIO ? Mary Browning Kolls, of Brownwood and San Antonio, passed from this life to begin her eternal life with Jesus Christ on Sept. 7, 2012, after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Bald Knob, Ark. Mary was 74 years, eight months and 11 days of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Lee and Opal Lewis of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, the Rev. Glenn Lewis, the Dr. Norman Lewis, the Dr. Bill H. Lewis of Arkansas; and her first husband, George C. Browning Jr. of San Antonio.
She is survived by her second husband, Robert L. Kolls of Brownwood and San Antonio; three children, Anthony J. Browning of Arlington, Christi M. Neese and husband Todd, and Amy Sue Mora and husband Patrick of San Antonio; two step-children, R. Dale Kolls and wife Shannon of Lorena, Texas, and Cheryl J. Dowell of Aztec, N.M.; 12 grandchildren, Giorgia Mora Solomon and husband Stuart, Daniel Johnson, Savannah Mora, Nicholas Johnson, Luke Mora, Sophia Mora and Julia Mora, all of San Antonio. Stephen Kolls and Kimberly Kolls of Lorena, Texas, Clayton Dowell of Tempe, Ariz., and Lasly Dowell of Aztec, N.M. She is also survived by four brothers, the Dr. Robert Lewis and wife Leona of California, Maurice Lewis and wife Betty, Roy Lewis and wife Ruth of Arkansas, the Dr. Paul Lewis and wife Ann of New Mexico; two sisters, Carolyn Bobo and husband Mitchell of Arkansas, and Connie Renfro and husband Jack of Fort Worth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kolls was a loving wife and mother who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and showed this love throughout her life. After Jesus Christ, her love of family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching things grow. When she was able, she was an active member of her local church and participated as a student and leader in Bible Study Fellowship both in San Antonio and Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio, with Pastor Randy Bales officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
