KENNEDALE — With the start of district volleyball action two weeks away, the Brownwood Lady Lions moved closer toward the end of a trying pre-district run with a three-set loss at Kennedale Friday night.
Brownwood slipped to 4-14 on the season as the Lady Lions fell by a 25-22, 25-9, 25-12 count.
Offensively, Devin Lyons, Brooklyn Stewart and Cynthia Ibarra led the Lady Lions with three kills apiece trailed by two from Makayla Hight and one each from Kayli Waddle and Katie Pevehouse.
Naomi Rosato dished out a team-high seven assists followed by four from Paxton Vaughn and one apiece from Lyons and Ibarra.
Cassandra Mendez contributed two aces, while Lyons and Pevehouse were credited with one apiece.
Defensively, Stewart tallied three blocks while Lyons notched one.
The Lady Lions will take the entire week off and not hit the court again until Sept. 18 when Mineral Wells visits at 6 p.m. on Sept. 18 — the final game before District 8-3A action begins Sept. 21 at Llano.
