Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley released the following statement in an email to the media:
Officer Dustin Bode with the Brownwood Police Department lost his wife in an unexpected death early (Monday) morning.
The Brownwood Police Department will be holding a fund-raiser for Officer Bode and their two children (Tuesday) from 11 a.m. until we run out of food at the Law Enforcement Center (1050 W. Commerce).
We will be selling brisket sandwiches and brisket plates. Please come out and support this officer. The fund-raiser is to help with everyday needs along with funeral cost. Thank you in advance for all your support.
The menu is:
• Brisket sandwich, chips, drink — $5
• Brisket plate — potato salad, beans, drink — $8.
The Brownwood Municipal Police Association will make deliveries. Call officer Chandra Means at 203-3875 to schedule a delivery.
