COLEMAN — Funeral services for Evelyn Williams, 91, of Coleman, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept.11, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with Roland Barnett officiating. Private interment will follow in Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, Sept. 9, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.
She was born Rosie Evelyn Jennings on June 26, 1921, in Burkett, to Frank Jennings and Nora Moore Jennings. She grew up and attended school in Burkett. In June 1940, she was married to Arnel Williams. She was a longtime resident of Coleman County. She worked as a nurse's aide, and she was a homemaker. She was also a member of Elm Street Church of Christ, and volunteered at the clothing room.
She is survived by her son, Alvy Williams and wife Carolyn of Coleman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Letta Thatcher and husband Howard of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
