Funeral services for Joy Stewart, 81, of Brownwood, formerly of Cross Plains, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Netherton Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tony Hinojosa officiating.

Visitation will be held preceding the service from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home.

Joy Josephine White was born on Aug. 5, 1931, in Belton, Texas, to Albert White and Lillie Sorrels White. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed fishing and reading in her spare time. Ms. Stewart was a member of Abundant Life Church and had lived in Brownwood since 1988, moving here from Cross Plains.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Vic Curry of Mo., Roger Curry of Brownwood, Joe Curry of Clyde, Gary Beason, David Beason and Terry Beason, all of Brownwood; daughters, Joy Brandstetter of Clyde, and Brenda Johnson and Cynthia Ryan, both of Brownwood. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and her caregiver and special friend, Debra Hagans.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
