The Brownwood High tennis team returned to the win column Thursday afternoon with a rain-shortened 8-3 victory over San Angelo Lake View, which snapped a three-match skid.
The Lions swept all three doubles matches as the team of Brian Bowen and Mark Johnson defeated Michael Muncey and Tyler Copien (8-1), the duo of Bennie Salazar and Joaquin Alonzo downed Sterling Bradshaw and Nathan Escobar (8-3) and the tandem of Nathan Ross and Austin Snyder won by default.
The boys also notched three singles wins, which were claimed by Bowen (6-0, 6-3 over Muncey), Johnson (6-0, 6-1 over Bradshaw) and Noah Marlin (6-0, 6-1 over Copien).
The Lady Lions’ victory came in doubles play as Emily Harding and Delaney Bennett knocked off Natalie Rosas and Heather Castro (8-4), while the mixed doubles team of Rosie Cadena and Zak Blake toppled Brittney Ruiz and Adam Capachino (8-2).
Brownwood (4-3) is slated to return to action Sept. 22 against Burkburnett at Burleson.
