The Howard Payne Lady Jackets picked up their first two American Southwest Conference volleyball victories of the season in impressive fashion over the weekend, sweeping both Sul Ross and Schreiner to even their overall mark at 6-6 and their ASC record at 2-2.
In Friday's 25-21, 25-17, 25-12 win at Sul Ross, leading the charge for the Lady Jacket offense was Hannah Hicks with nine kills followed by Taylor Jordan with seven, Sarah Bishop with six, Harli Benham and Sarah Davies with three apiece and Tolli Wylie with one.
Jessica Guerra dished out 12 assists trailed by nine from Shelby Bridges, six from Allyson Reed and one each by Bishop and Allison Eaton.
Tate Sullivan recorded a pair of service aces for the Lady Jackets, while Jordan, Bridges and Guerra contributed one each.
Defensively, Bridges' seven digs served as a team-high followed by five from Jordan, three from Guerra and one from Wylie.
At the net, Davies played a role in five blocks, Hicks had a hand in four, Wylie contributed to three, Bishop and Benham tallied two each and Jordan was credited for one.
In Saturday's 25-14, 25-23, 25-20 triumph at Schreiner, Bishop recorded a team-best 11 kills followed by 10 from Jordan, seven from Hicks and two apiece from Benham and Davies.
Reed distributed 13 assists while Guerra chipped in nine, Bridges was credited with three and Wylie tacked on one. Bridges also served all four of Howard Payne's aces.
On the defensive end, Bridges and Jordan both finished with a team-high 10 digs trailed by seven from Reed, four from Bishop, three apiece from Benham and Guerra and one each by Hicks, Davies and Wylie.
Hicks also played a role in nine blocks, along with four from Wylie and one apiece by Benham, Bishop and Jordan.
The Lady Jackets will host Concordia at 7 p.m. Tuesday in their home opener.
