Brandi Nicole Laing and Bert V. Massey III were united in marriage at seven o’clock in the evening on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at St. Louis Catholic Church of Austin. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Deacon Rob Embry. Brandi is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Laing of Brownwood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugenio Cantu and the late Mr. and Mrs. Baltazar Laing. Bert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert V. Massey II of Brownwood. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bert V. Massey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Pendleton Brooks.

Given in marriage by her parents and presented by her father, the bride wore a formal silk satin ivory ball gown by the Platinum Collection for Priscilla of Boston. The gown had a pleated sweetheart criss-cross bodice. The net illusion neckline, back and sleeves were covered with Swarovski crystals and pearl beading. Pearl buttons cascaded down the back of the dress to the end of the cathedral train. Swarovski crystals and pearl beading adorned the train. Her cathedral length veil was of silk illusion trimmed in delicate satin and held in place by an antique comb adorned with crystals. She wore Badgley Mischka satin peep toe shoes. Brandi carried a bouquet of antique garden, sahara, and spray roses tied off with champagne ribbon and a rhinestone band. Following tradition, the bride’s “something new” was her gown, “something blue” was her garter, “something old” was her heirloom family engagement ring, and “something borrowed” was a mother of pearl Bible that was carried by the groom’s two sisters during their weddings. The engagement ring and the mother of pearl Bible belonged to the groom’s paternal grandmother.

Bethany Ellis of Austin served as matron of honor; Ashlie Anglin of Port Aransas served as maid of honor; Hillary Morefield of Houston, Leticia Mosqueda of New York, and Emily Reichenbach of Houston served as bridesmaids. All attendants are lifelong friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore champagne satin floor length strapless gowns with sweetheart neckline and carried bouquets of hot pink and orange roses. Junior bridesmaids were Courtney Kohanski and Machenzie Kent, the bride's cousins; and Cora McNeese, the groom's niece. They wore champagne tea length satin gowns to match the bridesmaids, and carried matching hand-tied bouquets. The bride's house party included her friend, Allison Freeland; and cousins, Bailey Perry and Taylor Parish.

The groom wore a black tuxedo, a white French cuff shirt, and black vest and bow tie. Lifelong friend, A. J. Davidson of New Braunfels, attended as best man. Groomsmen were lifelong friend, Cody Grady of Austin; college friends, Will Richardson of Houston and Kary Kazami of California; and brother of the bride, Brian Laing of Odessa. Ushers were Timothy Browne and Eric McNeese, the groom's brothers-in-law; and Hunter Wagner, college friend of the groom. Junior groomsman was Liam McNeese, nephew of the groom. Ring bearers were Rory McNeese and Sammy Browne, nephews of the groom. Fathers, groomsmen, ushers and ring bearers wore traditional tuxedos to match the groom. The groom's boutonniere was ivory rose to match the bride’s bouquet. The fathers wore sahara rose boutonnieres, and groomsmen wore pink spray rose boutonnieres.

Scriptures were read by Jessie Laing, the bride's uncle. Music was provided by organist Chris Oelkers, with Bob Cannon on trumpet. Rachel Browne, the groom's sister, sang “Ave Maria.”

The reception was held at The Austin Club. Assorted hors d’oeuvres were served before the buffet dinner and dance. The bride's four-tiered Madagascar vanilla cake had strawberry and raspberry filling, and was adorned with rhinestone banding, with a crystal broach and fondant bow on the top. The groom's cake was chocolate chip cookie dough sheet cake decorated with a Texas Longhorn and red velvet cake footballs.

Events prior to the wedding included the rehearsal dinner at The University of Texas Club hosted by the groom’s parents. On the day of the wedding, a bridal luncheon was held at Green Pastures Restaurant, hosted by Rachel Browne, Sarah McNeese, Penny Bynum, Judy Ehrke, Brooke McKinney, Bethany Ellis, Susan Lewallen, and Lety Talley. The groom and groomsmen enjoyed a luncheon at Franklin’s barbecue. An engagement party was held at the home of Charles and Marianne Lockwood. Hosts were the Lockwoods and Stacy Smith. Two couples showers were held in Austin; the first given by Jim and Lauren Davidson and A. J. and Jenny Davidson, and another at the home of Michael and Linda Byrd.
