BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons ran into perhaps their toughest competition of the season on Tuesday night, falling to Class 3A Liberty Hill at home in straight sets, 25-6, 25-7, 25-15.
“Being personally familiar with Liberty Hill’s program, I knew what we were up against tonight,” said Lady Dragons first-year head coach Colleen Westfall. “The stats don’t reflect the tremendous effort the Lady Dragons gave. I told the girls this would be the fastest team they would play all season and I am very proud of the higher level they rose to.”
Rikki Loman, Kassidy Adams, Kady Kyle and Jaylee Roberts led the Lady Dragons with two kills apiece, while Kinsie Ward and Kylie Allen led the defensive effort with seven digs each.
Bangs (9-9) will visit Eastland at noon Saturday and host Breckenridge at 6 p.m. next Tuesday before opening district action Sept. 28 at Grape Creek.
