Project Graduation volunteers from Zephyr, May, Bangs, Early and Brownwood schools are in the final planning stages for Big Country Ford’s Drive4UrSchool event to be held Saturday at the Brownwood Coliseum.
The event will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Members of the community need only to come to the coliseum parking lot and take a test drive in a new Ford or Lincoln, and Big Country Ford and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the school of the test driver’s choice for its Project Graduation, a student gathering held on graduation night.
“It’s really a win, win, win situation for everyone,” Thomas Scull, general manager of Big Country Ford, said. “We get a lot of exposure for our Ford and Lincoln projects, people get to test drive a new Ford or Lincoln in a no-pressure environment, and our area students get much needed funds for their Project Graduation event. We couldn’t have been happier with the results from last year, and expect this year to be even bigger.”
Each school will have booths at the coliseum parking lot, with different fund-raisers under way, according to Kurt Newton, coordinator for the event.
“There will be food of all kinds, from brisket to roasted corn, bake sales, sausage wraps and school spirit items,” Newton said. “We expect everyone to come out, enjoy the day and help us raise money for this great cause.”
