EASTLAND The Bangs Lady Dragons reached double digits in the win column with a 25-8, 25-15, 25-12 non-district victory over the Eastland Lady Mavs.
Bangs improved to 10-9 on the season with a non-district home date against Breckenridge scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the District 6-2A opener slated to take place at 4 p.m. Friday at Grape Creek. The Lady Dragons will also face Sonora and Reagan County during district action.
Kinsie Ward tallied 12 kills, five digs and two aces, while Rikki Loman chipped in eight kills and two digs. Cheyenne Lovelady finished with 23 assists, six aces and two digs, while Kylie Allen contributed 10 digs.
Im so pleased with our team play today, said Lady Dragons first-year head coach Colleen Westfall. The girls ran slides, quicks and back row attacks with such confidence and success, but our serves were the key factor in the win. We are beginning to peak as a team at the right time and ready to start district Friday.
