In a proclamation signed on the 4th of September, Governor Rick Perry declared October “Principals Month” in Texas recognizing, “…the contributions of elementary, middle and high school principals.”

Acknowledging that principals are more than caretakers of a school, the document notes that, “Principals are expected to be educational leaders, disciplinarians, community builders, spokesmen, budget analysts and guardians of policy mandates and initiatives.”

Brownwood ISD is proud to join in recognizing the importance of our Principals, elementary, and secondary administrators, during “Principals Month,” and stand with the Governor, The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association in highlighting the positive contributions these leaders have made on student achievement in Texas.

The Governor’s proclamation encourages, “all Texans to recognize the important role principals play in ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education.”
