Members of the Brownwood City Council voted unanimously Tuesday morning to build a new central fire station on the City-owned property along Congress Avenue at East Chandler, north of the Lehnis Railroad Museum. Action came after a detailed report from representatives of BRW, architects from College Station, and comments from several citizens with concerns about the proposed site. A portion of the RV park toward Lee Street may not be required, and City-owned land towards Adams Street may also be involved. More details on this and other council actions today will be posted later today.
