BANGS — Attempting to carry a two-game win streak into Friday’s District 6-2A volleyball opener at Grape Creek, the Bangs Lady Dragons instead were denied in a 17-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 home loss to Breckenridge Tuesday night.

Bangs (10-10) received eight kills, three aces and three digs from Kinsie Ward, while Rikki Loman contributed seven kills and a pair of blocks. Also, Kady Kyle recorded four kills and three blocks while Briannah Sosa delivered three kills. Kylie Allen finished with a team-best 22 digs.

“We have struggled learning to finish and put our opponents away,” said Lady Dragons first-year head coach Colleen Westfall. “This team has improved greatly this season but it’s time for each one to push outside their comfort zone and move to the level I know they are capable of.”

Bangs will visit Grape Creek at 4 p.m. Friday, travel to Sonora on Oct. 2 and host Reagan County on Oct. 6 to wrap up the first half of 6-2A action.
