Preliminary results from an autopsy on the female whose body was found in Coleman County Monday confirm the identity of the deceased as Michele Reiter, Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley said this morning.

“The cause and manner of death still have not been determined,” Corley said. “I do not have a timeline for this information. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Michele’s family.”

The remains of a female fitting Reiter's description were discovered at 10:30 a.m. Monday in a remote area of Coleman County, Corley said Monday afternoon.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office is conducting the autopsy. Reiter had been missing from Brownwood since Sept. 10.

Corley said the investigation ongoing, and limited information will be released.
