ROUND ROCK ? Mary Helen Thompson Eaton of Leander, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

Mary was born on July 6, 1948, in Brownwood, Texas, to Trent and Rosemary (Hutson) Thompson. She attended school in Early, Texas, until eighth grade when her parents moved to San Saba, Texas. Mary graduated from San Saba High School in 1966 where she participated in band, track, debate, and was football sweetheart. Mary moved to Austin, Texas, to attend business college where she met her husband Don Eaton. Mary worked for IBM in Austin, Texas, for more than 20 years and retired on disability in 2000 after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Trent Thompson; and infant brother, Lindsey Trent Thompson.

Mary is survived by her husband, Don Eaton of 44 years; sons, Christopher Don Eaton and wife Tonja and Benjamin Trent Eaton; grandchildren, Annabelle and Parker Eaton; her mother, Rosemary Thompson; sister, Barbara Beaucham and husband James; brother, Steven Trent Thompson and wife Catherine; nieces and nephew, Sherry, Trisha, Nora, and Aidan; great-nephews, Shane and Levi Benjamin; many other adoring family members, friends, and her beloved golden lab Katie Marie Eaton.

Three words that sum up Mary's life are: loving, caring and generous.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Westside Church of Christ, 3300 FM 1431 in Round Rock, Texas.
