SAN ANGELO — The Bangs Lady Dragons opened District 6-2A volleyball action with a 25-12, 25-10, 25-17 setback to the No. 20 Grape Creek Lady Eagles Friday night.

Bangs (9-10, 0-1) received nine kills and 11 digs from Kinsie Ward, while Kady Kyle recorded five kills and three blocks. Kylie Allen contributed 18 digs, while Cheyenne Lovelady finished with three aces and 18 assists.

“We are disappointed in the loss,” said Lady Dragons head coach Colleen Westfall. “Grape Creek is a good team and ranked 20th in the state, but we also know we are capable of beating them. The Lady Dragons will continue to work.”

Bangs will visit Sonora Tuesday and host Reagan County Saturday to conclude the first half of 6-2A action.
