Graveside services for Wynell “Wy” Black will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Varga Chapel Cemetery in Bowser. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Black passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at her residence.
Wy Black was born in Cuthbert, Texas, on May 5, 1934, to Albert Ray Crowder and Wilma Dosier Crowder. She is fondly remembered for loving her grandchildren and family. She had lived in Brownwood since 2004. She was a Richland Springs Coyote fan and a supporter of 4-H.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Hicks and husband Walter of Brownwood; grandchildren, Krystal Butler and husband Chad of Brownwood, Jordan Hicks of Brownwood, and Jared Hicks and wife Jessica of Brownwood. Her great-grandchildren are Jayden Hicks, Keelee Hicks, Slade Butler and Rhyley Hicks; and her great-aunt, Lanette Patterson of San Angelo.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Darrell Crowder and Redge Crowder.
