SAN SABA ? Frank Wayne Churchill was born at home on June 14, 1928, in Oakley, Kan. Franks parents were Charles Wayne and Adah Mae (Lamb) Churchill. Frank attended Oakley High School and he graduated from Oakley High School in 1947. Frank was married to Bobbie May Wilson at his parent's home in Oakley, Kan. on Aug. 31, 1948. Frank started working at a very young age shining shoes and sweeping at the local barber shop in Oakley. He ran the movie projector at the local theater through High School. Following high school graduation he moved to Denver, Colo., to work for Gates Rubber Company. It was there that he met Bobbie who was from Richland Springs, Texas. They moved to Oakley and Frank then served in the U. S. Navy for two years. When he returned home he worked for Dean Organ Jewelry where he learned the watch making trade. Frank also attended Boret Watchmakers School in Kansas City, Kan. They moved to Algerita, Texas, in July of 1957 and Frank opened his business know as Franks Watch Shop in San Saba, Texas. Later it became known as Franks Watch and Trophy Shop. Frank loved working on watches and clocks, building clocks, woodworking, and his dogs. Frank could fix almost any clock or watch, create anything from wood and was happiest when he was in his shop “making sawdust” to quote him.

Frank is survived by one son, Wayne Churchill of Llano, Texas; grandson, Carter Wayne Churchill; sister, Karol Katt and husband Ron of Victoria, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Cleta Foos of McPherson, Kan., and Shirley Churchill of Novato, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie; his parents; brother, Robert Kenneth Churchill; and other brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the New Hope Presbyterian Church at Sloan Community

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the San Saba Golf Association.
