A shoebox can go a long way ó especially when itís from Operation Christmas Child, a program that provides children with shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies and more.

Members of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church are hoping to make an impact this Christmas season as they collect shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

This week is the national collection week for the program. Residents are encouraged to fill their shoeboxes with any of the following: small toys, toiletries, sunglasses, shirt, socks, hard candy and school supplies. †

The shoeboxes can be dropped off from 4-7 p.m. today through Thursday, from 1-6 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Churchís Connection Center, 1715 Coggin Ave.
