BALLINGER– Starting on Monday, November 26, 2012, the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office began taking names for the traditional Toy Drive, that each year helps to bring a little joy to the most needed families all over the county.

The drive, which has been a constant every Christmas for over two decades, has been delivering over 400 toys to boys and girls in Ballinger, Winters, Wingate, Miles and many other places in Runnels County.

The Sheriff’s Department is also open for donations, for those who want to contribute with this cause. Donations can be delivered in the form of new, unwrapped toys or cash. The Runnels County Sheriff’s Office is open during office hours Monday thru Friday. Donations can also be picked up by calling at 365 2121.

Registration is open for any family in Runnels County. Parents just have to come by or call to drop their name and address as well as their children’s age and gender at the Sheriff’s Department on Strong Avenue, behind the Courthouse.

Sheriff Bill Baird urged those who are going to donate to make it with time and not to wait until the last minute. The toys will be given right before Christmas, at a date and time to be announced.
