VOCA ? Funeral services for Douglas Beaman, 79, of Voca will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 1, at Liberty Baptist Church in Voca, with the Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Burial will follow in Voca Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.

He died Monday, Nov. 26, in San Antonio.

He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Dime Box, to Bernard Beaman and Bessie Maud (Bolander) Beaman. He was an electrical engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 38 years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Donald Coy Beaman and wife Mona Marie of Thornton; daughters, Connie Sue White and husband John Victor of Spring Branch, Cynthia Beaman Taniguchi and husband Kim Mori of Kingswood, Nancy Gayle Taylor and husband Tom of Prattville, Ala., and Terry Elaine Dearduff and husband Mark Joseph of Spring Branch; brother, Bernard Beaman Jr. of Houston; sister, Edith Arlena Artusy of Houston; sisters-in-law, Ruth Beaman of Houston and Ruth Beaman of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy; brothers, Joseph and Herbert; and sisters, Novita Marie Fussell and Bessie Maud King.
