The annual Bluebonnet Relays return to Gordon Wood Stadium this weekend, with track and field action slated to begin at noon both days.
Friday's action will start with the boys 3200 meters and field events — discus, shot put, pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump — while the girls running preliminaries are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
Elementary school races — which will feature first and second graders running 400 meters, third and fourth graders traveling 800 meters and fifth and sixth graders covering 1200 meters — will take place at 3:30 p.m.
Girls field events and boys running prelims will then begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by a throwers relay and the girls 3200 meter run to conclude the opening day.
Beginning at noon Saturday, the running finals will take place. The order of events is 4x100 relay, 800 meters, 100-meter hurdles, 110-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 4x200 relay, 400 meters, 300-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 1600 meters, 4x400 relay.
This year's event will feature just three divisions instead of the customary four.
Division I will consist of Class 3A, 4A and 5A varsities, Division II will feature Class A and 2A varsities and Division III will be made of up junior varsity teams from all classifications.
Division III will begin each running event, followed by Division II and Division I.
