NEW BRUNSWICK ? The death of James Fullerton Warfield, husband of Elaine Warfield, of Kiersteadville, New Brunswick, occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick, on Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was born on Oct. 10, 1941, in Corsicana, Texas, the son of the late George and Annie (Fullerton) Warfield.

Jim grew up in Texas. He graduated from Howard Payne University and began his teaching career. He served in the Peace Corps in Botswana, teaching at Serowe Teacher’s Training College. After returning to the U.S., he graduated from Rutgers University from the Master's program, and then moved to the Kingston Peninsula. Jim taught at UNBSJ, UNBF and NBCC in Saint John. He loved ham radio, target shooting and music. He coached air rifle for two separate Canada Games teams. His singing was very important to him. He was a member of two choirs, Colla Voce in Rothesay and the Fredericton Choral Society.

Jim is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughters, Tammy and Mike Thorne and April; sister, Beth Kizer of Early, Texas; nieces, Mary Jane Ellis, Betty Ann Childers, Margie Smith, Peggy Jones and families.

He was predeceased by his brother, George Warfield; brother-in-law, Ralph Kizer; sister-in-law, Marlene Warfield.

The family will receive visitors from 3-5 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506) 839-2156, 18 Scovil Road, Norton, New Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Kiersteadville United Baptist Church.
