COMANCHE — The Brownwood Lady Lions golf team placed first overall, and Sydney Roberts was the top individual, at the Comanche Invitational held at PAR Country Club earlier this week.
The Lady Lions carded a team round of 427, a dozen strokes better than runner-up San Saba (439). The Early Lady Horns also competed and came in fifth as a team with a 481 team score. Baird (442) was third and Clyde (478) placed fourth.
Individually, Roberts fired an 80 to defeat Megan Jennings of San Saba by two shots and Maycen Prentice of Baird by eight. Also competing for the Lady Lions were Krista Fragua with a round of 110, Jessica Barrera with a 118, Audrey McKillip with a 119 and Sierra Mendez with a 131.
For Early, Kassidy Barker posted a 115 followed by Sharee Stanford with a 118, Tracey Carrier with a 121, Emily Harris with a 127 and Callie Campbell with a 131.
The Lady Lions' next tournament will be at Burnet after spring break.
