The Brownwood Lions collected their second straight win at the Bluebonnet Invitational, and fourth victory in a five-game stretch, with a 5-1 triumph over Snyder Friday.

Brownwood (8-5) tallied 11 hits and scored three runs in the fourth inning, along single runs in the first and fifth. Defensively, the Lions committed just one error after struggling in the field Thursday.

“This was a good win for us,” said Lions head coach Blake Sandford. “After beating Snyder at their place, we wanted to have a good showing tonight. After a rough defensive outing Thursday, the team responded well.”

Pitcher Justin Osteen tossed a complete game and allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Scott Kinzler led the Lions with three singles followed by two each from Seth Owen, Cojo Guidry and Emilio Salazar. Owen collected an RBI and Guidry scored twice.

The Lions face Stephenville at 1:30 p.m. and Lampasas at 3:45 p.m. today to conclude the tournament.
