The Brownwood High tennis tournament was held this past week, and several Lions and Lady Lions turned in impressive performances.
Among the highlights, the mixed A doubles team of Joaquin Alonzo and Emily Harding won their draw, defeating teammates Bennie Salazar and Rosie Cadena in the final.
Also, in girls A doubles play, the team of Stephanie Thompson and Mabrey Sharpe captured the championship by defeating teammates Lindsey Williams and Karina Garcia in the final match.
In girls A singles action, Delaney Bennett collected three victories en route to winning the championship. Mark Johnson also reached the finals in the boys A singles draw before suffering a defeat.
The boys B singles championship featured Matthew Bryant defeating teammate Zach Hall, while Bailey Bishop earned the girls B singles title.
In boys C singles action, Kenny Soto won the overall championship while Caden Thompson claimed the consolation crown.
Other results for Brownwood included the boys A doubles team of Casey Shannon and Stephen Darneal finishing third while Noah Marlin and Timothy Sheehan won the consolation championship.
The girls B doubles team of Katherine Bautista and Kelsey Leon advanced to the championship match and finished second while Alexis Sanchez and Cinthia Torres placed fourth.
The girls C doubles team of Krystal San Miguel and Bailey Hubbard came in third while Brooklyn Brittan and Tanya Martinez won consolation.
Daydra Klaus finished fourth in girls C singles, while other participants included Stephen Shipp in boys A singles, Brittney Blake in girls A singles and the boys C doubles team of Ryan Adams and Bradley Sowards.
