BRADY — Graveside services for Lois Lazzettee “Chick” Morrison, 96, of Brady, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Cemetery in Floydada, with the Rev. Tim Franks officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. 

She was born May 19, 1916, in Floydada, to James Charles Newsome and Nancy Eva (Hill) Newsome. She was a special education school teacher for more than 30 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bulverde.

Survivors include her daughters, Jan Kubacak and husband Johnny of Brady, Kaye Day and husband Joe of Bulverde, and Danette Tucker-Jonas and husband Lester of Mason; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, J.B. Morrison and wife Norma of Plano; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Nan Lazzette Morrison; brother, Winfred Newsome; sister, Bonita Mock; and a granddaughter.
