EARLY In a battle of District 6-2A softball unbeatens, the Early Lady Horns remained atop the district standings with a 4-1 home victory over the Bangs Lady Dragons Tuesday afternoon.

Bangs (2-1 in district) tallied the game's first run in the top of the first inning, but Early (3-0 in district) seized the advantage with a pair runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth.

Early pitcher Kelbie Crelia struck out 11 batters and surrendered three hits.

Offensively for the Lady Horns, Sarah Smithey finished 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, while Crelia and Haleigh Lobstein were each 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Janae Williams went 1 for 2 and scored a pair of runs.

The Lady Horns will host Jim Ned at 2 p.m. Friday while the Lady Dragons welcome Ballinger at 11 a.m. Thursday.
