EARLY — The three-time defending district champion Bangs Dragons stretched their league win streak to 47 games with a 13-6 victory over the Early Longhorns in diamond action Tuesday night.

The Dragons (2-0 in district), who finished with 11 hits, scored the game’s first seven runs during the first and second innings.

The Longhorns (1-1 in district) closed the gap to 7-4 in the bottom of the third, but Bangs added two runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and three additional runs in the seventh inning. Early scored its final two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Early finished with four hits and committed five errors, while the Dragons made four miscues in the field.

Cameron Deal doubled twice and finished with four RBIs to pace the Bangs offense, while J.T. Newton and Josh Beckwith each ripped two doubles and knocked in two runs.

Aaron Keller, Jacob Beckwith, Chuy Alvarado and Gabe Perez also contributed an RBI each for Bangs.

For Early, Brandon Brownlee and J.W. Ledbetter drove in two runs apiece and Nic Alcorta doubled.

Newton and Deal pitched for Bangs while Stephen Hlis, Ethan Easley and Alcorta saw time on the mound for Early.
