Karissa Means, a senior at Brownwood High School, has been named by the faculty as the March Student of the Month for the Brownwood Rotary Club. She is shown with club President Nancy Anderson at the March 13 meeting.

Karissa has been involved in the band program for seven years. This year, she a senior officer and lieutenant in the trumpet section, and assists with the middle school band program. She is among the top 10 students in her class, and will graduate with 32 hours of dual credit from Howard Payne University and Ranger College. She is also editor of the yearbook. She has worked with Camp Courage, a program of Hendrick Hospice Care for children who have suffered the death of, or separation from, a loved one. She has been accepted into the honors program at McMurry University, and plans to major in music education and psychology with the goal of becoming a school band director.
