After discovering inappropriate photos sent online, parents of a 14-year-old girl contacted the Brownwood Police Department.
According to the report filed, the girl sent the photographs of herself to a 21-year-old man on Facebook, which is a violation of the law under the Electronic Transmission of Certain Visual Material Depicting a Minor. The offense includes the possession/concealing of and transporting/transmitting/importing child pornography, which is a third degree felony.
“This particular violation is against the minor because they’re promoting child pornography by sharing it,” Assistant Police Chief James Fuller said.
