JoAnn Rust of Crane, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the McCamey Convalescent Home. She was born to Tommy Hayes Holt and Ada Spence Holt in Brownwood, Texas, on March 2, 1931. She was married to Jimmie Rust on Nov. 27, 1948, in Carlsbad, N.M. Together they raised two children and were separated by his death in 1994. She was an Episcopalian. She owned the Mar Del Shop in Crane, Texas, from 1973 – 1994 when she retired. She loved to oil paint and she loved working out in her yard. She had a very kind heart and was loved by many.
Those left to mourn her loss, but cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa Jacques of Crane, Texas; her son, James Rust of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Marc Heiser and his wife Patty of Crane, Texas, Kellie Jacques of Dubai, UAE, and Kayla Rust of Stanton, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Taylor, and Hagun Heiser of Crane, Texas; and her sister, Kathryn Rouse of Temple, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Crane County Cemetery, with Tommy Parker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
