Ruth D. Salazar, 79, of Santa Anna, passed from this life on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 6 a.m. at the Senior Care of Brownwood.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Romanus Akamike officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Henderson Funeral Chapel.
She was born Ruth DelaRosa on Oct. 7, 1933 in Santa Anna, Texas to the late Feliz and Josefa Martinez DelaRosa. Ruth was raised in Santa Anna where she attended the Santa Anna schools. On March 16, 1957, she married Manuel Salazar in Coleman and they have celebrated 56 years of marriage. Ruth was a lifetime resident of Santa Anna and she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Coleman and retired from Jinright Manufacturing in Coleman.
Survivors include her husband, Manuel Salazar Sr. of Santa Anna; son, Salvador and wife Maria Salazar of Brownwood, and Manuel ‘JR’ Salazar Jr. of Santa Anna; sister, Herminia Cardenas of Brownwood; granddaughter, Montana Salazar of Abilene and Larisa Salazar of Brownwood; grandsons, Jayson Greenlee of Dallas, Seth Salazar of Santa Anna,
Jaryd Salazar of San Angelo, Albert Salazar of San Antonio and Matthue and wife Mary Salazar of Brownwood; and great-granddaughter, Mia Salazar of Brownwood.
Ruth was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Alberto Salazar in 1983 and Michael Salazar in 2007.
