Alvin L. Isom, 70, of Brownwood died Friday at the Brownwood Senior Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Moody Cemetery in Moody, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alvin was born Sept. 14, 1942 in Moody, the son of the late Edmond Alvin and Alton Bearden Isom. He married Betty Brink Southern in Brownwood on Aug. 25, 1995. She preceded him in death. He worked for Superior Cable for 25 years, retiring in August 2007. He was a Baptist and had lived in Brownwood for the past 30 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Aaron, of Brownwood, and Kaycie Isom, of Frisco; two sons, Keith Isom, of Fort Worth, and Floyd Edenfield, of Henderson; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
