For a number of years, Sodexo Catering and Howard Payne University have held an Easter Buffet benefitting Good Samaritan Ministries. Sodexo creates an elaborate buffet menu, donates the food and sends the proceeds to GSM.

This year, however, since Easter falls so closely behind the Empty Bowls Project, one of Good Samaritan Ministries’ biggest fundraisers of the year, and Sodexo also provides soup for that fundraiser, Don Green, Director of Sodexo, has decided to move the buffet to a set date: Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12.

“We’re excited about the move and the breathing space it gives us between the Empty Bowls Project and the Mother’s Day buffet,” said Angelia Bostick, Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Ministries. “When Don told us his idea of moving the buffet, we thought it would be a wise thing to do.”

Besides, Bostick said, what better way to honor the woman who has given so much for you than to take her out to a dinner she didn’t have to cook where the proceeds will go to help even more people in the community who need a hand up.

“I know it is going to be an adjustment for those who have so faithfully attended the buffet on Easter and this is somewhat short notice, but we hope arrangements can be made and that you will all come out on Mother’s Day instead,” Bostick said.

Don Green and his Sodexo staff will have more information closer to the event. Please be watching for the information as it becomes available.
