BALLINGER– Ballinger High School was named champion of the Zone 2, District 6-2A One-Act Play competition held last Saturday at the Ballinger High School Auditorium. Under the direction of Sherran Geistmann the group performed “A Servant of Two Masters,” by Carlo Goldoni.

The following students won individual acting and crew awards: Best Crew – Amber Galvan; Honorable Mention Cast – Luke Carter and Virginia Hauser; All-Star Cast – Daniel King, Gabriel Cavazos, and Thomas Luna; Best Actress – Brylee Matschek; Best Actor – Judd Hatler.

Ballinger High School advanced to the District round of the contest, to be held this Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Coleman, Texas.

“We need a huge audience in order to advance with this play. We credit our win to the excellent audience that came to support us,” commented Sherran Geistmann, director of the show. Those wishing to attend can call the school and get exact performance times.  

“A Servant of Two Masters” it’s a comedy set in Venice during the 18th century. The play is translated and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and Paolo Emilio Landi. The play has great costumes, props, set, and energy portrayed by the young actors and actresses.
