GOLDTHWAITE — The Early Lady Horns placed fourth, while the Longhorns came in eighth as a team at the Goldthwaite Relays, which were held this past Thursday.
The Lady Horns produced 81 points behind six first-place finishes. Meanwhile, the Longhorns generated 30 points and brought home a gold, silver and bronze medal.
Gold medal winners for the Lady Horns included Callie Campbell in both the 1600 meters (5:49.1) and 3200 meters (12:30.1), Aubrey Horton in both the shot put (34-10) and discus (110-2.5), Emily Harris in the high jump (5-0) and Hannah McDaniel in the triple jump (33-8).
Chelsea Johnston earned a silver medal in the 800 meters (2:29.99) and a bronze medal in the 400 meters (1:04.5), while Harris was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.12) and Lauren Winborn came in sixth in the 3200 meters (13:14.29)
On the boys side, Grant Gowdy won the 800 meters (2:06.6) and finished as the runner-up in the 400 meters (53.37). Jack Donaho came in third in the 3200 meters (11:59.3) to earn the bronze medal.
Gowdy added a fourth-place effort in the 1600 meters (5:10.02) and Sean Jones was fifth in the shot put (41-2.5).
