EARLY — Early City Council members will consider approving an ordinance that amends penalties for citizens who violate outdoor watering restrictions when they meet Tuesday evening.
Council members and City Administrator Ken Thomas discussed the issue in a workshop lat week, agreeing it is time to add substantial penalties to those who ignore water restrictions that are specified under Stage 3 of the Drought Contingency Plan, which allows outdoor watering once a week.
State 4 restrictions are likely to be implemented in July or August, officials with the Brown County Water Improvement District are now saying.
In other business Tuesday, the council will:
• Proclaim the 45th anniversary of the Tet offensive of the Vietnam War.
• Consider approving additions to Eastlawn Morial Park.
• Consider annexing 1.5 acres at 1800 Early Boulevard, and 2.3 acres on Allen Drive, into the city.
• Consider approving a plat for a development on seven lots on Allen Drive.
The council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
