An Early man who was charged in last week's stabbing of another man in south Brownwood is free on bonds totaling $60,000, Brown County Jail records state.
Dylan Jones, 19, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evidence tampering after the stabbing, which happened sometime before 2:30 a.m. Friday at a home on Broodmoor Drive.
Few additional details were available Monday morning on the stabbing, which sent Alexander Jose Elizondo, 20, into surgery at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. The surgery was necessary to repair a severed artery in Elizondo's arm, police said earlier.
The evidence tampering charge was filed because the suspect allegedly discarded the knife after the stabbing, Brownwood Assistant Police Chief James Fuller said Monday. Police have recovered the knife.
The stabbing was the result of an altercation at a party where several people were present, Fuller said.
