BALLINGER– A local resident ended up in the jail and is facing charges for stealing a vehicle and burglary of a building, after an incident occurring Friday night, July 4, 2013 in Ballinger, Texas. Ector Rodriquez, 32-years-age, was arrested Saturday by local authorities at his home, in the 700 block of 16th Street.
Friday night, Rodriquez allegedly broke into a used-car dealership located at the corner of 10th Street and Hutchings Avenue. After burglarizing the place he is believed to have taken a vehicle and driven it for a while, then he presumably returned the vehicle and took another one.
It was until Saturday morning when the owner of J’s Auto Sales reported the incident to the Ballinger Police Department. Later on, local authorities were tipped off about the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe that was found parked outside Rodriquez’s home.
Rodriquez was arrested by the Ballinger Police Department Saturday afternoon, nearly at 1 p.m., and is now facing charges for burglary of a building and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Rodriquez also has outstanding warrants from Palo Pinto County.
The suspect was taken to Runnels County Jail where he remains as of press time.
