Sheriff’s officials have recently made several marijuana-related and domestic assault arrests, including an arrest involving a verbal confrontation that became physical.
Deputy Robert Ramirez responded to a reported domestic disturbance July 19 on CR 309 in Early. A 29-year-old female at the residence stated that her boyfriend had assaulted her after an argument became physical. The female told Ramirez her boyfriend grabbed her by the throat, causing breathing difficulties. Ramirez’s report states signs of an assault were evident. Dustin Shane White was arrested for assault family violence by choking or impeding breathing, a third degree felony.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Bastardo arrested a male and female July 20 for possession of marijuana after making contact with a parked vehicle at the intersection of CR 237 and CR 233. Two “baggies” were seized, one weighing 1.1 grams and the other weighing 4.3 grams. Both will be charged with Class “B” possession of marijuana.
Deputy John Harper spoke with a complainant regarding a burglary July 18 on Englewood Ave. in Brownwood. A male reported that copper tubing, electrical wires and tools were stolen from a home he is working on, despite locking the home and gate at the entrance to the property.
