Theft and vandalism have consumed the time of the Brownwood Police Department over the last few days.

Officer Doug Hurt responded to a call Tuesday at the 3400 block of Vincent regarding a theft. The complainant stated that tools, yard items and household items totaling $5,000 were stolen from a shed on the property. The man provided a possible list of suspects to authorities. Hurt was also dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Fisk. The homeowner reported the back right storage compartment window of her SUV had been broken.

Officer Gary Villalpando responded to a call at a business in the 1400 block of Austin on Monday in response to a theft. A female stated that while she was in the store, someone entered her vehicle and stole several items. Villalpando also responded to a call in the 2100 block of Seventh, where windows on two vehicles had been damaged and a purse and wallet had been stolen.

Sgt. Mike Sheedy responded to the 1900 block of Brooke Lane where it was reported that a window had been busted out of a vehicle and several items stolen.

Officer Doug Stephens responded to a call in the 2100 block of Ninth regarding a window being broken out of a vehicle and a second call in the same area regarding a vehicle burglary.
