COLEMAN — Graveside services for Lillian Champion Latimer, 96, of Abilene and formerly Novice and Coleman, were held Monday at Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Bob Martin, minister at Elm Street Church of Christ in Coleman, officiating. Interment followed at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She died Friday, July 26, 2013.

She was born Minnie Lillian Breeding on Jan. 22, 1917 in Oplin, a daughter of Tommy Breeding and Delphia Clements Breeding.  In 1938, she married James Archie Champion and he preceded her in death on Jan.22, 1969. In 1972, she married Virgil Latimer in Coleman and they were married for 13 years, when he preceded her in death. 

While living in Coleman, she was a sales clerk for J. E. Stevens Company. She also was a member of the Novice Church of Christ.

  She is survived by her daughter, Gail Agnew and husband Marvin of Belton; son, Tommie Weldon Champion and wife Shirley; one brother, Vernon (Bud) Breeding and wife Billie of New Braunfels; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Clarence; and three sisters, Myrtle, Eva and Veda.
