COMANCHE — Funeral services for Carroll Conway, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jim Haught officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Lunch for the family will be held at noon Friday at Pearl Street Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Brownwood.
He was born on July 21, 1933, in Comanche, to William Jackson Conway and Gladys Ione (Morgan) Conway. On Oct. 29, 1954, he was married to Betty Jones in Comanche. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. For several years he was a mail carrier in Comanche and for 30 years he drove a truck for Harry Cloud Trucking and Bill James Trucking. He was a member of Pearl Street Church of Christ. He was a volunteer fire fighter in Comanche and a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V.
Survivors include his two daughters, Bridget Crawford and husband Gordon of Eula, and Judy Smith and husband Brian of Comanche; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Conway.
