LAMPASAS — The Early Lady Horns posted a 1-3 record at the Lampasas tournament over the weekend, capturing a 48-40 victory over Class 5A Killeen High in the finale.

Early trailed 17-8 after one quarter, pulled within 25-23 at halftime and took a 34-28 lead into the fourth period.

Janae Williams scored 14 points to lead the Lady Horns followed by nine each from Leslie Picasio and Aspen Escamilla, eight from Samantha Garrett, six from K.J. Elkins and two points from Rylie McGinnis.

The Lady Horns began the tournament with a 59-37 loss to Class 4A Corsicana.

Early was down 8-5 after one quarter, 27-22 at halftime and 48-30 through three periods.

Williams again led the charge with 12 points trailed by six from Garrett, five from Elkins and four each from Escamilla and Picasio.

Against Class 5A Belton, the Lady Horns suffered a 75-31 defeat.

Early was down 23-7 after one quarter, 39-12 at halftime and 59-10 through three quarters.

Williams’ 13 points were a team high followed by eight from Garrett, seven from McGinnis, five from Elkins and one point from Picasio.

The Lady Horns were also dealt a 59-37 loss by Class 5A Lake Travis.

Early trailed 17-10 after one quarter, 32-22 at the intermission and 45-31 heading to the fourth quarter.

Elkins finished with 11 points followed by Williams with nine, Garrett with eight, McGinnis with six and Picasio with three points.

The Lady Horns (2-12) will visit Zephyr at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
