SAN ANTONIO — The Howard Payne Lady Jackets are in the midst of a three-game losing streak following Sunday’s 92-51 loss to No. 10 George Fox in their finale at the Trinity Christmas Classic.

The Lady Jackets dropped a 72-56 decision to struggling American Southwest Conference rival Hardin-Simmons on Dec. 14, squandered a seven-point lead with 55 seconds remaining in a 93-87 overtime loss to Illinois Wesleyan Saturday and suffered one of their most lopsided losses of the last decade Sunday.

In the loss to undefeated George Fox (9-0), Howard Payne shot just 28 percent (16 of 57) while George Fox drained 51 percent (36 of 71) of its field goals. HPU was also outrebounded 51-30 and committed 21 turnovers to George Fox’s 16.

Danyel Bradley finished with 20 points for HPU trailed by 11 from Yessenia Cazares, six from Sarah Van Remmen, five each from Sarahi Castillo and Kalin Hanna and two points apiece from Jessica Galaviz and LaKortney Hyson.

Megan Arnoldy led George Fox with 15 points and nine rebounds.

The fourth-place Lady Jackets (5-4, 4-2) will return to ASC action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday when they host Ozarks (2-6, 1-4), then first-place UT-Tyler (8-1, 6-0) visits the Brownwood Coliseum at 1 p.m. Saturday.
